Description: Barrette with either black velvet or ivory braid covering with ornate bright gold filigree setting center. Two standard mini roses in contrasting colors set diagonally across the filigree with a black/gold faux antique button to one side between them. French made grip – all one piece.

 

Designer’s comment: “Visually, The gold filigree and antique button provide a Victorian look with the deliberate contrast of rose colors creating a very colorful attention-getting style. The choice of ivory or black in the cover fabric will greatly affect how strongly this look is noticed, for the black on very dark hair will cause the barrette itself to largely “disappear” and emphasise the flowers and the filigree bright gold backing. Conversely, the same barrette in light colored hair will emphasise the barrette itself and the texture of the velvet. The same affects can be achieved with the ivory braid depending upon the color of the hair with which it is to be worn.”

 

“Practically, the space at either end of the barrette facilitates easier handling. This avoids crushing flowers when fitting at the back of one’s head out of view.
