ABOUT US Peter Honeyman, the originator of our preservation techniques and designs, has actively guided the business since its concept stages on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, in the late 1980’s. (See separate menu item “Meet The Artist”). Our products & processes: Our products are constantly evolving from the fashion influences of the market and from technical developments. The current ranges we explain fully through this website. We guarantee our products and for details on this refer to our FAQ's section in the menu. We also make special custom designs. However, just how we preserve the flowers to perform in the extraordinary way they do we tend to keep to ourselves. Honeyman’s research and development has resulted in registered patents and more pending. For years he worked in various and varied locations to perfect our products with different flowers, including an extended period in “The City of Roses”, Portland, Oregon. Our markets: He developed these through trade, art and major flower shows in most major cities across mainland North America, and then internationally through frequent repeat personal appearances on leading television shopping networks in USA, London, Tokyo and Sydney. This has had the salutary effect of increasing the use of this website internationally. Our business expansion: Having started with Honeyman personally attending to every detail in each item made, and to each customer’s needs, the business reached a stage where this ceased to be practical, for, to satisfy its now major markets, it had to engage in mass production. That’s difficult with real flowers which do not conform to mechanical techniques and where each article produced has its own unique disposition requiring an artist’s detailed attention to final touches. Coupled with significant market changes relating to the economy, over time, Honeyman found little personal satisfaction in this factory stage of the company’s development. Our change in focus: Accordingly, in early 2006, he relocated the company to Hilo on the Orchid Isle (The “Big Island”) of Hawaii. Close to his prime sources of flowers, Honeyman focuses what has now become his unique boutique operation on the tourist trade throughout the Hawaiian Islands, his retail store in Old Town Hilo and activity generated from this website, whereby every item made and sold is a reflection of himself and his personal standards and no longer mass produced, plus, conforms to all the legal requirements for use of the designation “Made in Hawaii”.
